Wildflower
Trails Festival
Wildflowers
at Their Best!
Wildflower
Trails of Texas
is a celebration at the start of the wildflower blooming season.
The Wildflower Trails of Texas
consists of the triangle created by Texas
Highways 49, 155, and 11 between Hughes Springs, Avinger,
and Linden. Wildflowers framed by stately pines and oaks line
the highways of the Wildflower Trails. There are literally
thousands of different varieties of wildflowers naturally
occurring in the area. Although the blooming of wildflowers
is unpredictable, the last full weekend in April has proven
to be one of the most beautiful. While driving around the
Wildflower Trails, stop in the towns of Linden, Avinger, and
Hughes Springs where the red (crimson clover) carpet has been
rolled out for all the visitors. The only thing that outshines
the beauty of the Wildflower Trails is the friendliness of
its people.
April
25-27, 2008 will
be the 38th Annual Wildflower Trails Of Texas Festival
in Linden, Texas, so mark your calendar. The
community celebrates the beauty and abundance of spring wildflowers
such as the yellow fringed orchid, lobelia, coral bean, coreopsis,
Indian paint brush, phlox and many others. Drive the area
to see these beauties. The festival features wildflower displays,
flower show, window decorations, arts and crafts vendors,
food, music, art show, quilt show, 5K Run, old-fashioned cake
walk, horseshoe tournament, auto show, parade, and much more.
