Boards & Commissions

Function

The City of Linden uses the services of several specialized boards and commissions made up of citizen volunteers. These groups are responsible for a variety of functions, including parks & recreation, economic development and more. Most boards and commissions meet monthly to discuss various projects, events, programs and other pertinent issues. Often the recommendations of the boards and commissions are presented to the City Council for final approval or adoption.

The 4A and 4B Economic Development Corporations, although the City Council provides oversight, are not considered political entities, are funded by sales tax funds and operate as non-profit corporations.

Volunteering

Most groups require applicants to meet specific qualifications, and positions are appointed by the City Council. Follow the links below for more information on the function of these groups and also how you may volunteer to become a member.

The City of Linden relies on the energy of community-oriented citizens of the City. Without the help of committed citizens, the City would not be able to function. Each Board and Commission plays a vital and significant role and helps to keep Linden vital, responsive and responsible. This commitment is reflected in the service the citizens provide by serving on these various boards. These citizens who serve on these various boards volunteer the time necessary to improve the quality of life for everyone in Linden.

The City of Linden Park Boards, Commissions and Task Forces include:

  • Linden Economic Development Corporation (4A)
  • Linden Section 4B Economic Development Corporation
  • Linden Parks Advisory Board /Linden Area Parks Development, Inc.
